An update on Word's odd error: I ran Virex on my documents, and it turned out there were virii in all of my Word files. Awwww, my very first virus.

Yesterday Word wouldn't open a large file that I was working on because it said it was corrupted. I rebuilt it from scratch, opening the old one and pasting bits and pieces into a new Word document. Today it's saying it can't save my changes because there's not enough space left on my disk. I suppose 8 GB of free space isn't enough for a word processing document these days. I haven't used Word extensively before; now I understand why people are complaining.

Was looking at the screen shots page for Freevo, and noticed something alarming. Their main menu is composed almost exclusively of the iApps' icons. This is particularly alarming since it's probably GPL (I can't find any mention of a license but it's a Linux project). Many open-source licenses encourage innovation, but the GPL is too viral. As a developer I'm hesitant to even download any GPL software, let alone use it for anything.

I bought the new Foo Fighters CD and I'm loving it so far. Although the sound production is a bit annoying (the "distortion" is too realistic and sounds like a stereo when turned up full blast), they seem be adept at evolving themselves while maintaining a distinct sound. They seem to have picked up the early-80s-retro craze that's going around right now.
