While I was on the train this morning, I started looking at NewtSync's code, trying to fix the repeating events bug. (Of course I didn't have a Newton on-hand so it wasn't easy anyway.) And having been away from it for a couple of weeks, I figured something out. The plug-ins are very complicated. It was nearly impossible for me to trace the flow from one point to the other. And it dawned on me that if it's this difficult for me to get the API, it's no wonder nobody has been able to finish a third-party plug-in thus far. So the top priority is to finish the AppleScript API, which is much easier to follow. Then I want to re-write the dates stuff in AppleScript, except for the repeating dates conversion, which has to be in C. Hopefully I can finish this in the next couple of weeks.

Just before I was going to go to sleep last night, I did a regular online check of my bank balance. It was far lower than it should have been, and the detailed statement data didn't reflect the mysterious expense. I began panicking... how am I going to pay my rent? How will I have money for food and transportation? I finally managed to calm myself (with the aid of a sleeping pill) to the point where I could rationally deal with it, and went to sleep. When I woke up this morning I checked the balance and it had gone back up. Must have been a mistake on the bank's part. But today I've been filled with a general anxiety and malaise.
