I'm extremely overwhelmed right now. I'm currently running over one of several deadline extensions at work. 10-16 hour workdays for the past week, including this recent weekend, and I'm still running over. I'm trying hard to keep the stress from emotionally immobilizing me. And the questions for NewtSync are piling up. Some of them I can answer quickly, and others are for outstanding and as-yet-undiscovered issues. I feel really guilty for not being able to resolve these issues more quickly. It must look to the outside world like I've lost interest, and that's not the case at all.
I've signed up for a NewtSync project with SourceForge, so that I can open up NewtSync's source early. I will still leave open some sort of line for NewtSync donations, and this doesn't mean that I'm abandoning the project. But by opening up the source now, I'm hoping that I can get some assistance in making this a better product. Advanced users and budding programmers who are having syncing problems may be able to spot problems by looking through the source code. And the Newton app could use some work and cleaning up, too. There's many people out there who are far better Newton programmers than me, who will hopefully be inclined to contribute. Perhaps I can find some way to split future donations with them.
The conversion to open-source should be finished sometime this week. Any other ways you can think of for me to make the best use of my very limited time in making NewtSync a better product? |
