Javascript with native XML support.

Somebody pinch me and don't tell me this is an April Fool's joke. This is absolutely what I have been hankering for. JavaScript gets native XML support (E4X). It has already been adopted by BEA. Additional information can be found here. [Lambda the Ultimate]

BEA lead the way in making this available and the ECMA have said it will be in ECMA Script (but which version?). I wonder what impact this will have on ECMA based languages such as JavaScript, JScript and Macromedia's ActionScript.

I wonder how far the mark this is off Microsofts X# project, they sound very much the same.

JD's Forum: Macromedia Central.

"I know ColdFusion, and want to do this, but I don't want to learn Flash." uh, I'm constrained in what I can say right now, but I think there's a well-known need to enable other creation metaphors. Hang in there, that's all I can say right now.

Not sure how to read into this, Central content created from CFMX?? Sounds interesting, I hope that indeed you can use J2EE, .NET or CFMX to build a Central app.  Based on what Mesh has also said I think that using a XML template it may at some point be possible to render a Central application using CFMX. I can only guess at what John means but it sounds very interesting.
