S#... Smalltalk scripting for .NET. - via Sam Gentile's Blog
..something I will be looking into and writing about. "S# is not a scripting language in the sense that it's any less powerful than other .NET languages; instead, it's a scripting language in the sense that it doesn't require strong variable typing—in other words, it's a dynamically typed language. . . Beyond that, you can perform operations impossible in VB.NET or C#. " Like Jason and his upcoming Win-Dev session, I am always interested in moreof the CLR from the internals perspective or "alternative Langauges" aspect of .NET to keep things interesting.
S# is very cool and offers things that languages such as VB and C# don't. That the beauty of .NET is that its true language is I Land it all depends on what higher level language you choose as to what you get out of the IL (unless write your app in IL that is ;-)
I wonder what will happen when we run out of letters for .NET language compilers, heck we know have C#, D# and S#. Maybe VB should have been VB# (though in the early days I seem to recall that it was considered).
