Demand from your Congressmen: info on oil company connections to Bush administration

In the past, I have found directly complaining to my Arizona Representative and Senators to be effective (e.g., Congressman Stump took my letter complaining about the awful SSSCA legislation directly to author Senator Fritz Holings - then let me know how the conversation went).

Anyway: the linkages between power brokers in the Bush administration and the oil industry are generally well known, but difficult to track down. I suggest sending a request like the following to your Congressmen:

Dear XXXXXX,

I am concerned that our country is about to enter a war that is very much against our national interests, but very much in the interests of multinational oil companies.

I have tried to find definitive information on linkages between members of the Bush administration and multinational oil companies, but as an individual U.S. citizen, it is difficult to track down this information (the SEC Edgar database helps).

I understand that Congress has investigative authority and the means well beyond individual citizens. I ask you to please do what you can to make public information that might save our country from making what I believe to be a big mistake.

Best regards,

ZZZZZZZ

Anyway, just a suggestion...

Peace demonstrations

I just spent 5 minutes looking at pictures of peace demonstrations that occured around the world this weekend.

Wonderful. Tony Blair, especially, should take a hint.
