Ah, more RAM

Happy happy. Joy joy.

I just added 256MB of RAM (for only $49!) to the G4 Tower Mac my Dad gave me last year (he is to blame for weaning me away from Linux to Mac OS X) when he bought a dual processor system.

The most that I ever paid for RAM was $300 for 16KB (yes, 16384 bytes) for my old Apple II (I had serial number 71 - first one sold in San Diego - I also wrote the chess program that Apple used to give away on their demo cassette tape).

More RAM is especially useful for machine learning runs - about 6 weeks ago I was struggling to fit a large run/experiment onto my Linux server (only 640MB RAM) - now I could do that easily on my desktop system.
