Clonaid - even the name sounds suspect.

The whole idea of cloning humans sounds sort of like a sci-fi movie gone bad.  So now there are allegedly 2 babies.  One named Eve, and one whose name has not been released.   Eve is allegedly a clone of her mother.  Question: Does this make Eve the "daughter" of her mother  - or  - the "sister" of her mother.  Really, if you think about it, she's not an offspring in the true sense of the word (an offspring is a descendant), and she has to be something, so I suppose that must make her a sister.  I guess things could really get confusing if people were to clone themselves multiple times.  The whole concept makes me wary of the future implications.

At this point, I am not sure that the cloning stories have been corroborated, but this article brings up some humorous points about the whole cloning idea.  I recently tried to come up with something that I would like to clone and about the only thing I could come up with was that cheesecake I had for desert the other night.  I think I would serve myself better by just getting the recipe.

TextureA picture named green.jpg

Call me wierd, but trees are probably my favorite subject to shoot.  I can take my time since they are not going anywhere fast, and they don't fuss when I make them look bad.

I recently moved to medium format but I have not been able to share any of those photos because the negatives are too large for my scanner.  The beauty of medium format is that you are shooting with a larger negative (about 3x's the size of 35mm).  A larger negative means you can get more stuff on the negative.   More stuff on the negative means greater detail.  Greater detail means - - well you get the idea I am sure.

I understand the convenience of digital photography, but I am a purist.  I shoot only with film because I love the deliberate exercise that takes place when I take the time to visualize an image, and then carry it one step further and  compose that vision.

The immediacy of digital is nice, but the quality and the ability to control the parameters of film is what makes film photography an art form.
