Long Live The Dark
This weekend was my first foray into the dark room. The image to the right was the result of 4 hours of sweat, pain and struggle - - finally an image that I recognized when I took the photograph appeared on paper. (Unfortunately, a scanned image does not hold detail well on computer monitors).
I admit the image is rather simple. Yet if you look beyond the simplicity of the image you may see more. I consider it more a study of lines. yadda yadda yadda - I know some will look and simply see a chair, and that is fine.
All I can say after my experience is that I may never come out of the dark. What little time that I have spent in the darkroom has opened my eyes to endless possibilities that I can follow in my photographic pursuits.
To those who have already entered the darkroom world, my comments are nothing new. For those who have even a slight interest I would say to do whatever it takes to get into a darkroom.
I will continue to post some of my good, bad and ugly darkroom experiences. I will appologize in advance because I am sure that in the beginning the ugly might out number the good.
