Weblogs
An affirmation of one the useful benefit of these weblogs just occurred this morning. My last post discussed photography books that I just received in the mail. The post resulted in 2 comments. One of which referred me to a Time-Life series on photography, another referred me to a Louis Faurer photography exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The beauty of this is that everyone who reads this site will learn about the information that I provided, along with other extremely relevant information on the same subject.
As a result of my one entry, I have gained two additional pieces of information that I did not have when I wrote my first entry. Now that I am armed with this information I will try to see the exhibit the next time I am visiting my parents in Pennsylvania, and I will keep my eyes open for the Time-Life series.
Now to answer the question that many people who do not have a site like mine ask, "where do I get this information that I post." Well the short answer is that I do NOT sit at my computer and surf the net all day, my computer actually generates the information for me (in a News Aggrigator) and provides me with an updated news list that I can scan and post things that interest me. It's really that simple! The only "work" on my part was setting up the initial parameters of the "news" that I receive. If you were to scan my site you can quickly figure out that I receive information on politics, the arts and photography. My computer also notifies me whenever certain sites that I select (like mine) are updated. From this process of sharing information and perspectives we all gain a little bit more information along the way.
