Budget Cuts
It should come as no surprise that one of the first programs that states will seek to eliminate as a response to ballooning budgets deficits are art programs. Unfortunately the legislators making the cuts fail to appreciate the benefits received from art. One of the first states propelling these cuts is Arizona.
Is this a sign that Americans are abandoning their culture altogether? [David Usborne suggests this may be the case] Maybe elected officials will be less inclined to eliminate important programs if more of their constituents stand up and voice their concerns.
