Spirit of Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras is 30 days from today. For anyone who lives, or has ever been to New Orleans during Mardi Gras, you know that it is an eye-filling adventure.
Mardi Gras Day, or Fat Tuesday, is the climatic end of two weeks of parties, king cakes and parades. When I first moved here I used to try to attend every Uptown parade that was scheduled, as the years have piled on, I now only hit a couple of of the major ones.
I do, however, make a point to get to the French Quarter on Mardi Gras day to catch a piece of the foot parade. This is a parade that brings all kinds of elaborate costumes out for display. So, in the spirit of things, I grab my camera, my bike, and a bloody mary (a very New Orleans thing to do), and I start shooting.
Being that Fat Tuesday is 30 days from today, I thought I would share a few of my shots from last year. Hopefully, I will have more shots to share during the festival this season. See (1) masked man, (2) 1 butterfly-2 butterfly, and (3) Queen for a day]
