Yahoo: "The US-led and British-backed war on terror is only fuelling more violence by focusing on military solutions rather than on root causes, a think tank warned Wednesday.
'The 'war on terror' is failing and actually increasing the likelihood of more terrorist attacks,' the Oxford Research Group said in its study, titled 'Beyond Terror: The Truth About The Real Threats To Our World'."

Avaaz: "Nearly 400 men are trapped in the prison at Guantanamo without charge or trial. This prison is the symbol and the center of President Bush's assault on international law. But now we have a chance to shut it down - Bush's own Secretary of Defense is publicly calling for closing Guantanamo. Bush's advisors are split, and a global outcry could tip the balance. Sign the petition."

PressTV: "A documentary aired on Italian TV channel, RAI 24, has claimed that the U.S. military is keeping 480 nuclear warheads across Europe, 90 in Italy.
The Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has banned the deployment of so many nuclear warheads in Europe.
The documentary has also called on the Italian government to comply with its obligations under the NPT and demand the removal of the weapons from the Italian soil."

RAI24: "Despite the deep secret on this issue, an American non governmental organization, NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), has published the map of the atomic devices in Europe and in Italy: about 480 atomic bombs in Europe and 90 in Italy."
Video.

This information dates from 2005. More. Report.

Guardian: "Russia is preparing its own military response to the US's controversial plans to build a new missile defence system in eastern Europe, according to Kremlin officials, in a move likely to increase fears of a cold war-style arms race.
The Kremlin is considering active counter-measures in response to Washington's decision to base interceptor missiles and radar installations in Poland and the Czech Republic, a move Russia says will change 'the world's strategic stability'."

NYTimes: "A federal panel responsible for conducting election research played down the findings of experts who concluded last year that there was little voter fraud around the nation, according to a review of the original report obtained by The New York Times.
Instead, the panel, the Election Assistance Commission, issued a report that said the pervasiveness of fraud was open to debate.

The revised version echoes complaints made by Republican politicians, who have long suggested that voter fraud is widespread and justifies the voter identification laws that have been passed in at least two dozen states.
Democrats say the threat is overstated and have opposed voter identification laws, which they say disenfranchise the poor, members of minority groups and the elderly, who are less likely to have photo IDs and are more likely to be Democrats."

The cheek those Republicans have! George W. Bush became president by fraud. And the scheme to perpetrate the fraud was... to accuse large numbers of voters of fraud.
