MichaelMoore: "We at MichaelMoore.com have just received word that Michael's new film, 'Sicko', has been selected to be part of the main program of this year's Cannes Film Festival. This is Michael's third film in a row to be an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival ('Bowling for Columbine' and 'Fahrenheit 9/11' were the other two). Three years ago 'Fahrenheit 9/11' won the top prize at Cannes, the Palme d'Or. 'Fahrenheit' went on to become the largest grossing Palme d'Or winner in history. In 2002, 'Bowling for Columbine' won the 55th Anniversary Prize."

AlterNet: "Sicko, which will be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May, is a comic broadside against the state of American health care, including the mental health system. The film targets drug companies and the HMOS in the richest country in the world - where the most money is spent on health care, but where the U.S. ranks 21st in life expectancy among the 30 most developed nations, obviously in part due to the fact that 47 million people are without health insurance."

LiterarySaloon: "Elfriede Jelinek's most recent German work is appearing chapter by chapter and only online: see chapters one and two of the 'Privatroman' ('private novel') Neid ('Envy')."

24Dash: "Tony Blair's decade at 10 Downing Street marks him out as one of those rare politicians who put their stamp on an era.
But no sooner has that milestone been passed than the Blair era will come to an end, with the Prime Minister's resignation expected within weeks, or even days."

Will there be much difference between Brown and Blair? I don't think so. But I hope I'm wrong on this.
