HIROSHIMA - OUR SHAME
This picture shows Uppsala a few years ago. Uppsala is a peaceful and beautiful Swedish town with the oldest university of the North. Each year, this day, when dusk falls, candles are put in cups and lit, then floated on the Fyrisån river from the point where the river becomes navigable, in memory of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki victims.
The first bomb was dropped on Hiroshima at 8:15 August 6, 1945. At 11:02, August 9, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.
We, Westerners, should bow our heads very deeply, in shame for this genocide.
"Hiroshima Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba warned that the world is moving toward war and accused Washington of "worshipping" nuclear weapons during Wednesday's ceremony marking the 58th anniversary of the atomic bombing of the city.
The number of people killed directly by the Hiroshima atomic bomb and those who died after exposure to radiation has now reached 231,920."
The devastation was enormous (Japan Peace Museum). Hiroshima Peace site.
On what grounds was this decision to use the atom bomb made?
There is enough evidence now that shows Japan was willing to surrender, moreover, the target was civilian. As usual the American president called it a military target.
The atom bomb was not necessary to end the war! More on this.
