Staff Christmas Party 2004 ed.
Went to the Christmas party this past Saturday night. Was held at the same castle restaurant as last year. Even ordered the exact same meal. Yep, I'm a pitiful creature of habit, though I didn't let anyone feel me up like last year.
While I can't say I had as much fun this second time around (maybe being on the committee putting the whole thing together had something to do with it), it was still something to get me out of the house on a Saturday night. That and I ended up with a better present than last year's jumbo bag of cinnamon potpourri.
At first I was gunning for the crystal soccer globe, since that was the most appealing gift that had been opened so far (note: this was a gift exchange where you could either choose a gift off the table or one that had already been opened by someone else). Appealing in the sense that I have no need for Polish pottery, which was causing squeals of glee from everyone else. So I had the globe for all of ten minutes or so before someone took it from me and I was forced to go to the gift table for something unopened.
Ended up with a Campbell's soup mug and some coffee. Not a horrible present, but probably not one I'd go out and buy for someone else.
For the record, I took the Bluegrass Christmas Collection cd as my offering. Damn good present right? Some tasteless peer is probably still cursing my name.
