LaCie ships 500GB Big Disk Extreme I've always said regarding computers, that you can't ever have enough memory or a large enough hard drive. LaCie is certainly helping the situation. I've used LaCie drives for almost as long as I've had a computer for my external drives. They work and work for a long time. Portland, OR-based storage peripheral-maker, LaCie on Wednesday told MacCentral that the company is now shipping the 500GB Big Disk Extreme hard disk. In addition to its large capacity, the Big Disk Extreme also features two FireWire 800, one FireWire 400 and an 8MB buffer in the 7200 rpm drive.
