See Joey Win!
Today I should be thinking about work. And, for the most part, I am. But I can't help thinking about the tournament yesterday. The PGA tournament. Did you see it? Joey Sindelar, a youngster of 46 years, finished early. Posted a number, as the golf analysts say, and waited for the finish. He had to wait for a while and then had to win in a two hole sudden death playoff.
The hairdos on ESPN made fun of Joey. He's probably not going to be there at the US Open in June. They were more interested in talking about Tiger. He blew a two stroke Friday lead and then missed the playoff by a stroke. Tiger struggled and hardly hit a fairway all day. Still, he's got enough game to make it interesting.
But Joey hasn't won in 14 years. Joey has always been an interesting player. He won a few tournaments back in the late 80s and early 90s. He hales from Horsehead, NY. Not your typical Florida-based golf pro. And he's just a nice guy. I've met him (in person, as they say) and he's just a nice guy. Quick to sign and autograph. Not full of himself. Just happy with his life. And this weeks PGA tour winner. Congrats, and I hope Joey wins a few more...........
