Jim's Pond - Exploring the Universe of Ideas
"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Working Saturday

A perfect Saturday would be about half play and half work. So this morning I took a long walk with the dogs and a long bike ride by myself. That put me at about 1:00 with a full slate of work related items on my plate.

Denise and Jared, one of the newlywed couples in my family, decided to make an offer on a new house this week. It's contingent on the sale of their present home. So now we are in process of completing all of the current projects. You now the drill. Fix everything for the next family. They put a sign in their yard this morning and hope to sell it in the next few weeks.

Jared told me, as we worked on a molding project, that half the reason for getting the sign up and putting the house on the market was to give them the incentive to finish all the little projects that have been started and are languishing since their marriage over a year ago. Good plan. By that reasoning I will never get my kitchen finished until we decide to move. Maybe I need to get going on that and break the cycle. Too bad I can't. My kids are moving and I've got to help them finish their projects............
