Rural Schools Conference
The Utah Rural Schools Association (URSA) organizes a conference each year in July. It's held over three days at the end of the second week. This week. Most sessions are geared to educators, but the conference is attended by many District and Regional Technology directors. I've spent the better part of this week attending this conference. This is my fifth year.
Rural Schools is the best conference I attend each year. Mostly because of the other attendees. The first year I'd been working at UEN for about six months. I'd spent a lot of time on the road meeting educators and technologists in districts all around Utah. Attending the conference was amazing. There, in one place, were most of the technologists that I'd traveled hundreds of miles over six months to meet. My first experience gave me an opportunity to reinforce relationships with my new education friends. I've looked forward to this conference ever since.
I've grown to appreciate the educational nature of the conference. Sitting in these sessions I begin to understand what is important to teachers and administrators. It gives me a chance to evaluate UEN and what we do from that educational perspective............
