Fifty-seven
My dad, brothers and I arrived at Glen Eagle golf course at 6:45 this morning. Well, actually that's when I arrived. Everyone else straggled in. By 7:15 we were loaded onto golf carts and finding a hole to start on.
Glen Eagle hosts an all day, sun up to sun down, golf outing in September each year. It's just $25, including cart. The course was full and we finally found a place to start at the 13th tee. My hands were cold and I'd lost contact with my fingers. It took several holes before shots didn't sting. Somehow this was fun.
By the time the day was through I'd golfed 57 holes. It was great. For the record, after about the first 18 holes the old golf swing starts to feel grooved. The thinking process pretty much stops and a certain type of golf-cruise-control takes over. Then, about the 50th hole, fatigue sets in and nothing feels natural. At least that's the way it happens for me. I finished just after 8:00 PM by myself. Everyone else dropped off at the 51st hole. I was very tired and yes, it was a good tired.........
