Today at JavaOne in San Francisco we will be announcing and demoing for the first time in public the next major iteration in our J2EE application frameworks called Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF). I'll post links here to the frequently asked questions documents that should go live on OTN this week.

Executive summary for existing users of BC4J, JClient, and UIX frameworks is that with the arrival of JDeveloper 9.0.5 (preview during Summer 2003, production 2nd half of 2003) you'll get an enhanced visual design-time experience, new consistent visual data-binding, and new flexibility in applying this consistent set of design time tools to a wider array of backend technologies (ADF business components, java beans, web services, enterprise beans). "Productivity with Choice" is the theme. Improved visual design time, coupled with new flexibility in technology choice in how you like to implement the different architectural layers of your J2EE application. The cool new IDE features like better window management, simplified application navigator, and many other often requested "programmer-level" assistance features are not too shabby either!
