Back from a week of listening to presentations at Microsoft's PDC 05 conference last week, today Frank Nimphius and  I helped Sue Harper with the all-day hands-on seminar at OpenWorld about J2EE Development using Oracle ADF for Oracle Forms and Designer customers. We nearly filled every one of the 100 computers in the training room, and most of the users got through the labs just fine. I did a quick demo of Oracle JHeadstart around mid-day and pointed users at the list of ADF Recommended Reading on OTN, for a list of interesting whitepapers related to the Oracle ADF framework

Tonight I attended a nice dinner put on by the Oracle Technology Network and Oracle Magazine, and got a chance to chat with some interesting customers. I also got a chance to catch up with Tom Kyte of Ask Tom fame and Ken Jacobs, who mentioned in passing to a customer that he's been at Oracle for 24 years. Wow. I met Mark Rittman, who I'll have a chance to chat more with at the Oracle Bloggers Dinner on Tuesday, as well as Andrew Carr, Jeff Spicer, and Tom Haunert who work on OTN and Oracle Magazine.

We've been working feverishly over the weekend to finalize our Early Access release of JDeveloper 10.1.3. It should premiere on OTN this week for download. We're super-excited to be showing it off this week at OpenWorld in the demo grounds and sessions, as well as to start getting the community's feedback on these interim bits on our way to polishing up the production release.

If you're at the OpenWorld show, stop by the Oracle demo grounds and say hi. I'll be at the Oracle ADF demo pod.
