Since September 11 (,2001), I've only been on an airplane a few times.  It still boggles my mind that they would object to safety pins, but allow pens and any other number of devious devices.  Well, Nelson Minar had some interesting thoughts on airport security and the Bill of Rights recently. I'd like to see a wrap-up.  How'd he actually fare? [courtesy of boingboing]

On the subject of  how people are faring, comes this story of a "reasonless" deportation [also from boingboing].  Over time I've read a number of individual deportation stories, but it seems that the mainstream press hasn't picked it up as a serious and continuing story--merely isolated flawed moments in an assumedly otherwise successful Homeland Security policy of keeping America safe from foreign ne'erdowells.  Until the press starts covering these issues in earnest, we'll be giving tacit support to these policies and outspoken anti-immigrationists like Pat "Nuke'em" Robertson.
