When navigating my way through "voice response hell", if I am in need of a human operator, I often go immediately to "0", in the hope of bypassing the layers of tedious prompts. This tactic has often worked well, but I am wondering if they are catching on to my ilk, because more and more often it seems that 0 doesn't work.

One must adapt to one’s circumstances! Now that I live in a larger metropolitan area, I have a long-ish commute, and it is quite time-sensitive. I really need to be out the door at 0630, so I was getting up at 0545 to leave time for breakfast. But my family are all night owls, so it was hard getting to be early enough. So I have shifted to eating my breakfast (bowl of cereal and grapefruit) at work. I pretty much roll out of bed, pour the time-brewed coffee into a thermos, pack my lunchbox, and into the car. Anything to keep the one-way drive to under 30 minutes!
