Kyocera has a low-moderate priced digital camera with negligible shutter lag and no shot-to-shot lag, wow! 1-second boot-up and tiny form factor for good measure! Combine this with the 10x zoom lenses that are starting to appear in the same price range, (okay, I'll allow that you can't combine it in a tiny form factor), add 1-2 MP of resolution, and all my must-have qualities in my next digital camera have been met! (AA batteries being a strong nice-to-have.) Now I just have to wait for that to hit the $300 price point.
