I went to see Jools Holland in the Olympia tonight. The seats were too small. Or rather the space between rows was too tight. It was like the old Savoy cinema. Also the sound tended to be a bit on the loud side to the extent that it was difficult to hear the music. On the whole it was a great night and I'm glad I put off going to They Came And Shaved Us. Jools Holland really is a master on the piano and he is accompanied by a great orchestra: five saxaphones, four slide trombones, three trumpets, an organ (played by his brother Chris), a guitarist and a bass guitarist. Not to mention Guest Vocalist Sam Browne, drummer Gilson Lavis and surprise guest vocalist Ruby Turner.
