Three and a half years after it was first demonstrated at Macworld New York, Halo:Combat Evolved is coming to the Mac. MacSoft has announced that the Mac version has gone Golden Master and will ship in the US on December 14 and in Europe later that week. The irony is that the game, which was originally developed for the Mac, is actually a port from the Windows version, which is in turn a port from the Xbox version. Shortly after the Macworld announcement, Microsoft added game developer Bungie's biological and technological distinctiveness to its own and made it an Xbox project.
