I painted my living room and dining room and installed hardwood floors over the last couple of weeks. Originally I wanted to paint the living room and dining room floors in a really cool artistic pattern with poetry on the floors - similar to this idea

Then when I pulled up the carpet and found tar on the concrete, plans changed. I guess originally in the 1940s they put abestos tile throughout the house over the concrete foundation and to install those, they had to first put tar down, then the tiles, thank god the previous owner had already had those removed - because it would have cost me so much more to deal with that - being its hazardous waste and all. And you can't paint over tar, it just bubbles up eventually or scraps off and here's what that looked like..concrete pic

all best intentions go astray...and I really wanted hardwood floor eventually just wasn't planning on doing it now, so something out there was telling me to just do it and here's the end result

House

1. new blade in the miter saw helps alot, titanium blades more expensive but the best way to go when cutting hardwood laminate.
2. you do not need fancy tools to install a hardwood floor - don't listen to the home depot guys
3. when the instructions say 1/4" from the wall, they mean the wall not the base board (i had to start over with the installation - 2nd time installing the floor, got it right, when my mom ask why I didn't know that in the first place - back to rule #1, instead of answering how the hell would I know that's what it mean, should have smile and let it go)
4. I can not measure straight, I can not draw a straight line
5. when one is sooooooo tired, do not have company over
6. never ask the brother-in-law to do anything related to water sprinklers (he broke mine)
7. when I push myself too hard, expect 2 days of recovery
8. when you think you've cleaned the house, don't expect anyone to think it clean. If I really want to surprise anyone with a clean house, hire a cleaning company then have then over the same day before the cats shed
9. don't try to restrain pit bull with hands, I think i hurt my wrist
10. one should always wear face mask when playing with saw dust, breathing in saw dust bad
11. mig welding is cool
12. should always take time to volunteer
13. my electrician is a moron, ok maybe not a moron but he likes to take shortcuts which end up costing me more $$

my friend Df and Zy are going through impact training and they both seem so much happier and alive, its weird though df was like a guy friend before, he never talked about his feelings or emotions and now he's sorta of turning into a girlfriend..lol. And while I get what they are doing and believe that they needed that discovery in their lives and maybe didn't understand how to live a joyful life and leave the dwelling behind, I get that, that's one of the reasons I blog, if I didn't I'd dwell on all the little things. Actually lately, I'm so damn tired, that dwelling isn't an issue but back to the point. I know Zy was looking for something, trying to find her goddess within and I am so happy that she found it but I feel like I lost a friend there. And I understand the need to find the power that is all around and I completely understand that they couldn't find that power and magick without some guidance - great for them, they found that guidance but please don't try to recruit me into it.

I found that power and magick a long time ago, we're all connected, we're all energy, connected. Everytime you do something, it comes back to you 3 times, whether good or bad. Its the point of shimmering energy, have you ever noticed when it rains, you can see the energy around you, that the power that is all around us and its in each of us.

Besides I'd rather spent 500.00 on a welding class than on training that I've already discovered many many moons ago.
