HP Will Announce Two New iPAQs on Monday
A tip from Brighthand.com states that the h4155 and h4355, both with integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi will be available at the end of October and mid-November, respectively. The h4355 also features a thumbboard giving it a similar but larger form factor to the Treo 600.
There is certainly a flurry of news regarding new handhelds/smart phone lately. Here's just a quick brief on some stories that I find interesting:
Samsung SGH-i500 Smartphone - It's long-awaited release will be delayed again till next year.
Sony Ericsson's T608 - A new rumor suggests the this smarphone will soon be released. This would be the first CDMA phone supporting Bluetooth. This would contradict other reports that Sony Ericsson was leaving North America CDMA development, and Sprint's reluctance to support a phone that potentially could be used as a wireless modem for a laptop, putting an extra burden on its CDMA network. Thanks to Gizmodo.
Treo 600 - Reports are that Handspring has shipped 19,000 units, and is now delaying shipment from its own stock due to being overwhelmed in processing orders. There's no indication that this delay is due to a shortage of units. T-Mobile is delaying its release to customers, citing that it's requiring Handspring to rework the software until it meets their satisfaction. The planned release is the end of November. There are rumors that unlocked GSM units will be available on the Handspring Web site next week.
