Thursday night we encountered a snow storm in Colorado on our way to Reno!!! That slowed us down quite a bit and instead of arriving in Reno on Friday morning we arrived just before 3 PM. The crew bus arrived before us and had started setting up already and by 5 PM we started our sound check. After sound check there was barely enough time for a shower and a bit of room service food before we played our first show. I played my new DeVoe Blanca and have to admit that I missed the fuller sound of the Negra guitar. Robbie did well and Ron was perfect as usual. We have a different monitor engineer for the first time in 10 years and Mo (Mike O'Malley) did well also.Last night was a more relaxed affair, and a better performance I thought. I used the Negra guitar and was very pleased with it. R + R (Ron and Robbie) had some amazing moments together. Ron does the middle Eastern and Asian percussion, whereas Robbie plays Latin and African percussion and the combination is just devastating!! 3:36:12 PM comment []
