Finding yourself on an album right between Arlo Guthrie and Marvin Gaye is not a bad place to be. But it sucks if nobody asked you...well, at least I don't remember. But we will go through the Sony Publishing files tomorrow and find out for sure...

The Dirty Vegas web site sucks and is not informative.

Here is another thing that is interesting: I knew some people in England were digging "Solo Para Ti", because in the beginning of 1993 somebody brought a British CD of supposedly cleared (no royalty) samples to the studio in Santa Barbara, where we were recording "The Hours between Night + Day". It didn't take long for us to find the congas and percussion from the "Reaching Out 2 U" intro on that CD. Yes, it was Davo's percussion alright, a little sped up, but identical to the last note. We sent the publisher of the CD a note that this was our stuff and to cut it out and they sent us a few of their CDs and promised they would.

Well, I hope "Deep in your Heart" becomes a huge hit for them...'cause I'll see that on my BMI statement...

And while we are there...Dirty Vegas, Mitsubishi, Car Commercials....yes, I would do a commercial like that in a heart-beat. You have no idea how much money Led Zep got for the 35 second sample used by Cadillac, and I'm not telling...here is my thinking: I would rather take the money and then donate half of the millions to a good cause than refuse to license my music and some other shmuck takes the money and buys Escalades with 20" rims, you know what I'm saying?
Thanks to Adam 4 the info

Came across this web site today. Amazing collection of photos of Picasso's work together with tons of info about his life.

Monday Morning
Music: OL+LN - Little Wing
Mood: expectant

This morning I am listening to Little Wing, easily my most under-rated album. It was the first Luna Negra album after my product manager and friend Al Masocco left Epic for bigger and better things, and I think he and I could have achieved more with the album. Right now I am hearing track #7, Untitled (La Noche) with it's wah-wah guitar and the horns in the chorus and the reoccurring switches from 4/4 to 12/8 Buleria time. The music has a great Summer feel to it as I watch my empty hammock sway with the wind outside. Perfect music for watching clouds pass overhead or people rush around...music for an outdoor cafe?

You might have noticed that this page loaded much faster than usual. I turned the Comments option off, as I had a feeling they were slowing things down.
