Land Yachts ahoy: A number of weeks ago, my husband and I took his folks to a vintage Airstream rally in La Veta, Colo. And we went bananas. Imagine traveling the open road towing a 20th century design icon. The above examples are Bambi's--the little ones. The trailer to the left was built circa 1947, the second is a '60s child.
I can see it now--Leopard print banquettes, aqua appliances, pink accents and...Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival here we come!
(In the interest of full disclosure, we did not purchase a Bambi, just fantasized a bit. Spend some time at www.airstream.net and see if you don't catch the bug.)
