It's come to this

Fall 2003 Tahki pattern book
Now I'm cribbing FO's: Cousin Stephanie just finished this sweet thing, a quick little shell for her sister from the fall Tahki collection. (Click here to see the pattern.) Don't remember the yarn; it's pretty, but a bitch to knit. She adjusted the pattern to accommodate a funnel neck and learned an abject lesson--pullovers have to "pull over" the head. After trying various bind-offs, including the vaunted stretchy bind-off (K2, *BO, slip stitch from right needle onto left, reknit it, K1.* Repeat between asterisks), she threw the offending garment my way and said, "You fix it."
Just ripping the darn thing out was a headache, friggin' mohair. I added some increases to the sides of the neck and tried the stretchy BO but got a ruffly effect. More ripping, back to standard BO and voila, the funnel neck becomes a slight trumpet neck. Fits over my noggin. Hopefully it will make it over Heather's head!
