Babies 'R Us: As I was happily winding my way up a sleeve of Must-Have, I had a "holy sh*t" moment of reckoning. In less than two weeks, the first of many baby showers commences--between now and July. Knit porn: Four of us black sheep from the Lamb made a field trip to the Denver Creative Festival on Saturday. Heavy on the quilting vendors, there were nonetheless some splendid yarn purveryors, including the inimitable Judy Ditmore of Interlacements. Wanna see what I got? Mom bought a wonderful fair isle tote kit from Black Water Abbey (she's a glutton for punishment). Kay scooped up some yummy alpaca from Interlacements and Constance scored a photo-fabric transfer kit and vintage Japanese kimono. A wonderful time was had by all!
Birdland: My brother has this misogynistic macaw named Darwin, nasty brute with a beak that could break coconuts--the macaw, not my brother. He's started a forum--Parrotalk--where people write posts like "Playful beaking," "little man," and "drainage from nostril." Wish I had one. Not.
