Behold, Crayola!

They're cute when they're small
Finished with minutes to spare! I exaggerate. The buttons went on with about 24 hours to spare before the baby shower. Finding the right buttons, though, was a bit of a do. Ideally, I would have chosen different colored buttons to secure the front--blue, red, orange, white, etc. but couldn't find the right thing. If you don't want duckies or doggies or fat little hearts, fagaddeaaboudit. I even saw neat acrylic fasteners shaped like pencil sharpeners. But try to locate simple, fun buttons in clear colors at a yarn store--you might as well be searching for a cable needle under the seat cushion of your couch. Ain't gonna happen.
Next time, I'll hit the fabric store.
But I digress. The ladies at the tea loved it. Went bananas. Treated me like I had mystical powers. (Do you think it's bad that I love making the big splash at showers?) Only problem is, what d'ya do for an encore?
Great reads: I added a link to the left based on the wonderful book recommendations offered by fellow knitter-blogger-readers plus a few of my own. Many thanks for the suggestions. And I'm happy to add more. Take a peak!
