A woman's prerogative
Nixed the bee suit: Decided the bee cardi was a little "too cute" for the intended recipient. So I'm using the pattern's shaping, but have changed the picot edging to a more gender-neutral garter stitch. I'm also doing different-colored edging on each piece and color-block pockets. Unfortunately, I'm a bit short on aran-weight cotton. The LYS I love to hate has it in huge skeins for $10, which I'm loathe to buy because I'm not sure I'll use the extra. I can't order online because I'm working on deadline. So, guess who's dialing for cotton today? It'd be much easier if these mommies would come clean with the sex of the kid. Jeez, don't they think about the knitters? :-)
