Willow wonders: Though this post is not specifically knitting related, it does address the cool things you can do when you think outside the box.
We have a friend who designs and builds willow furniture. As you can see from the above, this ain't your father's bentwood chair. Instead of sticking to traditional shapes and norms, Brett fashions found wood into chairs, tables and cabinets Frank Lloyd Wright would envy. His architectural willow pieces are the coolest I've ever seen. They don't come cheap. But wouldn't one of these babies look cool in your Vermont ski lodge? Wouldn't you like to be knitting in one?
Fat Tuesday: Happy Mardi Gras, everyone! I intend to take the "fat" part literally and whip up a batch of red beans and rice for our evening's enjoyment. Ash Wednesday dawns with the opening of Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ. Who's going? (Not me! Too scary, literal, bloody and allegedly biased.)
