Turisme driver frem trådløst nettverk: WiFi in Kashmir.

CNN.com reports that local authorities in Srinigar, Kashmir, have implemented a public wireless network along the shores of the scenic Dal Lake. Previously even mobile telephones were prohibited in the war-torn region to hamper communications among insurgents. WiFi is now seen as a lure to bring back tourists.

Aloysius Choong for C/Net Asia, has a must read article on a new SMS terminolgy and trend: IMPS. Nokia calls it "Presence". Sony Ericsson calls it "My Friends".
