Fresh Is Always Better

I see arguments in the forums about whether or not the "freshness" of online content matters to the search engines.  After studying the rankings of key phrases on my sites I've noticed that the fresh content ALWAYS outranks the stale content.  When my articles are new, they rank much higher than they do 3 or 4 months later.  Because of this, I've been going back and adding new content to my old articles and web pages - even if it's just a few sentences.  This strategy keeps the "date updated" associated with each page rolling forward constantly and gives you a boost in the search engine rankings.  Try going back and freshing up a few of your older pages and articles, then carefully track the rankings for your best keyword phrases - you'll like what you see.
