In following up on yesterday's blog about Fairfax County's telework efforts, I contacted Tom Mauter, who (along with Karrie Beckmann) has recently assumed responsibility for coordinating the county's teleworking program.

Tom emailed me that they are currently reviewing the results of their Telework Expo (held last October) and planning their program marketing efforts for the coming year. Ongoing efforts include training programs for potential teleworkers and their managers to address specific issues about teleworking. Additionally; they are "reviewing the entire procedure to become a teleworker with the aim of streamlining and improving the process. This involves adjusting our intranet telework presence as well as working with staff from our Department of Information Technology to improve the technology portion of teleworking."

We hope to have them come out to the Telework Lab soon to see some of the advanced technologies we've set up for demonstrations and on pilot projects.

Thanks for the additional information, Tom, and best wishes in reaching your goals!
