According to the article FileNet Adds Collaboration (Demir Barlas, Line56, March 08, 2004), FileNet has joined a popular trend in the enterprise content management (ECM) marketplace by announcing a new collaboration tool. A web-based add-on to their ECM tool, Team Collaboration Manager includes discussion forums, live meetings, and interactive polls. The product is scheduled to ship in the third quarter of 2004.

Vendors with competing products include IBM Lotus and Open Text Livelink, as well as Documentum (which recently acquired eRoom), Interwoven (which recently acquired iManage), and Vignette (which recently acquired Intraspect).

"Additionally, FileNet announced it is partnering with industry-leading Web meeting vendors Web Ex, Centra Software, Cimmetry and Web4, a division of netGuru, Inc., to offer integration and support for real-time Web conferencing." according to a March 8th article at MCADCafe.
