By now you know that former Wisconsin governor and U.S. Senator Gaylord
Nelson died Sunday. He was best known as the founder of Earth Day, the
1970 event that marks the beginning of the modern environmental
movement. Nelson did much more than that, however. For a good overview
of his life and many contributions to American society and the good of
the Earth, read the article by Frank Aukofer that ran in Monday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Goodbye, Gaylord. Thanks for all you did. We'll miss you.
