Twirling about
The wind softly catching my hair
And then quickly dropping it onto my face
Over and over again
One hand up and one hand down
Balance as the goal
Seeing nothing
Taking in everything
Concentration only on goodness that is
Not what actions or thoughts or feelings
Seeking
Fruition
Faster faster and faster still
Still
Falling
Releasing
Realizing
Remembering
Growing
The verbs making the goal feel....sought
[This self-written "poetry" was inspired by my desire to try out this form of meditation]

Long, long day and may be here another couple of hours. If I can stomach it. 10-11 hours at a place is too long...since I play guitar at lunch now (and bring in a healthy lunch) it really kills me to be here after hours. But, so many things to do today. I catch myself doing these long exhales though and the little lady working in my office probably thinks I'm crazy. I am. I'm not going to apologize.

I like this:
These spiritual window-shoppers,
who idly ask, 'How much is that?' Oh, I'm just looking.
They handle a hundred items and put them down,
shadows with no capital.
What is spent is love and two eyes wet with weeping.
But these walk into a shop,
and their whole lives pass suddenly in that moment,
in that shop.
Where did you go? "Nowhere."
What did you have to eat? "Nothing much."
Even if you don't know what you want,
buy _something,_ to be part of the exchanging flow.
Start a huge, foolish project,
like Noah.
It makes absolutely no difference
what people think of you.

This explains why I'm barefoot in my business office today:

Making a big mistake is not a good feeling. Even if you know that there were contributing factors that were out of your control. At least for me, it still creates this crazy tension right at the base of my neck and it's filled with a negative emotion I don't experience much.

Okay, my new book club had it's first meeting last night. SO different than my old one. Just much less opinionated folks so far. I have something to say about everything and I like it when everyone else is doing the same and you have trouble getting in a word 'cause there are so many great and interesting thoughts. Hopefully we'll warm up to that. I always left my old book club with this wonderful feeling of "women are wonderfully smart and interesting and considerate at the same time." Last night I was rushing home to make sure I was right about some Bible-things that were said that I knew were wrong. So rude of me. I should be positive and supportive...
I did play a little guitar for them, but I don't think they were very impressed. It's a slow skill to acquire! I'm trying! Nah, they were nice about it. One friend wants me to start learning the wedding songs to play at her wedding one day. :)
