Lijit Search

March 1, 2006

Slashdot's feeble approach to RSS

Slashdot's approach to RSS seems lame:

  • finding the feed address is like approaching a treasure hunt (no icon, just a very small font RSS at the bottom of the page)
  • feeds are not full text(at least not in my aggregator)
  • feeds appear to have some sort of web bug graphic in them (not sure what for but the graphic that does nothing for me is extremely annoying)

Despite his full text feeds only policy though Scoble still seems to read them. Occasionally buried in the Microsoft bashing there is something worth looking at but I am about to give up on them.

Is there something I am missing there?
