Toyota Sets 9.06M 2006 Production Target (AP).

Toyota Motor Corp. President Katsuaki Watanabe has all smiles during the annual year-end press conference in Nagoya, central Japan, Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005. Watanabe announced the production target of Toyota, which is threatening to overtake U.S. rival General Motors as the world's biggest automaker, marks a 10 percent increase from the 8.25 million vehicles Toyota expects to produce this year. Japan's top automaker Toyota said it expects to sell 8.85 million vehicles worldwide next year, up 9 percent from 8.09 million estimated for this year.
