David Hoggard's take on local politics and life in general from Greensboro, NC

Monday, November 10, 2003

Back from the beach a feeling pretty good.  It is true that a bad day at the beach is better than a good day at work.

Never did catch up with Don and the Mayor but I did catch up on my sleep.  Also caught up with Jesse and Josie (Jack had a hockey tournament in S.C. and stayed with friends).

Received some write in numbers from the mayor's race, some highlights:

  • Joey Medaloni - 137 (The Rhino's endorsement, club owner)
  • Mary Rakestraw -  126 (My suggestion, County Commissioner)
  • John Hammer - 96 (The Rhino's editor-in-cheif)
  • Tara Sue Grubb - 67 (Actively pursued a write in campaign)
  • Jim Melvin 10 - (The Rhino's Primary endorsement, former mayor and lightning rod)
  • Delonda Farmer - 3 (One of my supporters - she was supposed to get 5)
  • Carolyn Allen - 2 (Greensboro mayor before Keith Holliday)

Lots transpired while I was gone but I am not going to even try and catch up wih commentary, I'll just take it from here and move on.
