From Greensboro's assistant zoning director Bill Ruska, the N&R reports some surprising but welcome words I never thought we would hear, "We've got enough commercial property on Battleground (Avenue, for you non-Greensboro readers)".
The City's recently adopted Comprehensive Plan is going to encounter it's first major skirmish over the proposed development by Granite Development On one side is the Plan that specifically precludes commercial development at the site, on the other is a cast of familiar faces including the ever-present-Council-presenter/attorney Henry Issacson and oft-recused City Councilman Robbie Perkins, president of NAI Maxwell who is brokering the deal. (FYI - Perkins represents the District where the development is proposed, so the affected neighborhoods will have no direct representation in this matter - thanks Booster)
