Today I got my copy of the Little Big Book. The original Big Book is Bhutan: A Visual Oddyssey Across the Himalayan Kingdom. And boy, is it ever big, and stunning. I helped get one of these to the University of Washington Library -- it should be on public display soon, once they finish maing a special display case for it.

The Little Big Book has all the pictures from the Big Book, plus a whole lot more. It also has a narrative that explains the whole project behind the making of this book, as well as the history and culture of Bhutan. While not quite as stunning as the giant version, the pictures will still tae your breath away.

If you are rich, buy a Big Book and give it to a local library -- most of the proceeds go to a charity, Friendly Planet. If you are not so rich, buy a little one -- Mike Hawley tells me that at least $70 of the $100 price tag flows through to charity.
