Interesting juxtaposition of news today in the automation space. Wonderware, who has rebuilt its software on the Microsoft .Net platform and other standard Web technologies (calling the platform ArchestrA) and Incuity Software (DataWorks), developer of Wonderware's former offering called ActiveFactory, both announced upgrades.
Wonderware's SuiteVoyager 2.5 now offers dynamic Web analysis and reporting capabilities. The company states that this version is a configurable environment that now supports all Wonderware analysis capabilities including trend analysis, event and alarm notification, downtime analysis, KPI reporting, drill down and root cause analysis, product genealogy, traceability, batch reporting, scheduling integration, and third-party data source aggregation.
The company also announced a production events module for production traceability and historical data management. Manufacturers can also use it to capture information on the forward and backward genealogy of materials and create reports on this information. In addition, PEM can be used to identify which equipment and personnel were utilized in production and relevant production events. This information can then be related to a lot, batch or serial number.
Look for more on this latter subject in the upcoming August issue of Automation World.
Meanwhile, DataWorks Systems, a business of Incuity Software, announced the formal release of its new Incuity HDA historical data access solution for integrated deployment of plant-wide production information. The software provides access and analysis for companies with existing historians. It includes both pre-configured and custom executive dashboards, automated production reporting, KPI monitoring alerting, OEE analysis and process optimization capability.
The company also states that since it was the developer and licensor to Wonderware of ActiveFactory, "this is the only true upgrade available for ActiveFactory v 8.5 or earlier."
